Eastern Music
Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything else. Music is the harmonic link between all living and non-living things – it is present in the beat of the heart, the rustle of the leaves, and the showers of the rain. Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore believed that music fills the infinite between two souls. Ragamala invites all such talented musicians to come forward and fill the infinite with melody and rhythm, celebrating the beauty and cultural authenticity of our very own musical traditions.
RULES
● Number of participants– 4+3
● Duration: 6+2 minutes
● Theme will be announced in the representatives meeting.
● The time allotted includes time for sound check.
● Use of any kind of inappropriate language or pre-recorded tracks will lead to
immediate disqualification.
● Participants are to perform in Indian attire.
● No electric instruments except Tanpura are allowed. Indian instruments are allowed
● The minimum number of instrumentalists is 3.
● Judging Criteria: Relevance to theme, Composition, Synchronisation, Vocals, Overall
